Presenting the gorgeous family portrait photographs of The Begbie Family. Shot at their North London home, near Dalston I was introduced to Hannah’s lovely children, Jack and Griffin. We all had great fun, Jack showed us his latest costumes, The Gruffalo and Buzz Lightyear. Griffin melted us all with his big eyes and cute hairstyle. A lovely morning had by all.

A drizzly February day did nothing to dampen Hamley’s spirits as he had his first beach experience. I was lucky enough to be there to document it. Hamley the adorable labrador belongs to the Sia Family – Helen and David. Helen and David are very dear to me as they were my first Wedding Photography clients, so it was a particularly lovely occasion to be shooting them again. Especially as their parting news was that there will be a baby Sia arriving in September!

I first took some photos of little Jamie when he was just 11 days old. Now look at him! At a very gorgeous 5 months we headed down to Noordhoek beach in Cape Town to capture some family portraits. It was VERY windy and hot, so we went armed with a big sun brolly. He has just THE cutest expressions and as you can see from his parents, he has inherited a beaming smile.

A couple of weeks ago I spent a brilliant evening on the beach with Ashton – a very talented dancer. Ash’s Mum had treated her to a shoot for her Christmas present and we worked together to create some truly beautiful shots. Noordhoek beach, Cape Town gave us a stunning backdrop. We had some wind to content with but Ash was amazing, so elegant, even in the difficult sand! A little girl came to gaze and a dog also wanted to join in! Toward the end of the shoot Ash was brave enough to venture into the sea (which is painfully cold) and we both ended up in giggles with soggy bottoms! Thanks to Janine and Ponch for assisting.
A few weeks ago I spent a sunny morning with a very sunny little boy, Ryan and his lovely parents. We had a quick play at home then headed off for a pretty autumnal walk in Nonsuch Park, Sutton.
Introducing the gorgeous Milo. He was just a few weeks old when I visited and had the pleasure of spending some time with him and his parents. Such a beautiful family.
Introducing Mr. Jamie Parker. JP was born just 11 days ago to Emily and Craig in London. I had the privilege of taking the first official baby photographs of their new son. He has a wonderful temperament and only opens his little mouth to complain when having his nappy changed! Watch this space as his parents have booked me in for another family photography session when he’s a little older!

I’ve just hit my one year anniversary of launching my full time photography career and I thought it would be a great time to share with you some highlights from a brilliant year.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing portraits of some very interesting people, including Gregg Wallace and Dr Dannie Abse and briefly became a member of the Royal Press Team when I photographed His Royal Highness the Duke of York opening the Yammer EMEA HQ in Shoreditch!
I’ve completed a number of headshots for some brilliant actors and talented business people and have had the honour of photographing lovely weddings from as far a field as Italy, Norfolk and the surrounding areas of London. I’ve recently started to do some family shoots which are a real joy to do.
A big thank you to all my clients, friends and family for your support and encouragement. Roll on many more years of living the dream as a freelance photographer.
A few months ago I had the pleasure of photographing the Welsh poet, Dr Dannie Abse’s portrait. I know Dannie from when I worked with the literary agent Robert Kirby at United Agents. Dannie turns 90 next month, so as a birthday present I wanted to take his portrait. Dannie still lives in his family home in Golders Green, North London. We had tea and biscuits (Dannie insisted I had at least two) whilst I took his photograph. I wanted to be as unobtrusive as possible so I shot using my 50mm, just natural light and didn’t ask Dannie to pose throughout. He has had an absolutely amazing life and is mid-story in most of these shots. After tea he showed me old photographs in his study, read me a poem about his wife Joan (who tragically died in a car accident in 2005) and even made me recite one of his poems to him. A stressful yet humbling experience (he didn’t pass comment on my reading!). I was sent away with a book of poems to read on the way home.
Dannie’s latest book of poems SPEAK, OLD PARROT, published by Random House is out now.
I spent a couple of hours with Rufus and Clara Butler the other week, and captured them in their home, going about their daily routine.
